Opening Times and Tickets

Hall Place and Gardens is open year round currently from 10am to 4pm, except for the bank holidays at Christmas and New Year. Access to the House and exhibitions is charged for but access to the visitor centre, café and gardens is free-of-charge all year round. Separate charges apply for the Bexley Butterfly House and Jambs Owls Experience.

Our gardens are also open year round at the following times:

April – Sept: 9am-9:30pm  (the Stone Arch Gate that takes you to the glasshouses and Visitor Centre Centre will close at 4pm.)

Oct – March: 9am-4pm        (The Stone Arch Gate that takes you to the Glasshouses and Visitor Centre will close at 4pm with the large Green East Gates that allow access and exit to the wider gardens closing to the public at our usual winter time of 4pm.)

Ticket Prices for admission to the House

The gardens are free to enter.

  • A family ticket is valid for two adults and three children
  • Admission is free to Friends of Hall Place & Gardens.
  • National Art Pass holders and National Trust partners receive a discount on production of their membership card.




  • Last admission to the house and last orders in the cafe is thirty minutes before closing time.
  • The gardens are open year round and open every day at 9am. During April to September closing time is 10pm and 4pm at all other times of the year.
  • The historic house, visitor centre and cafe will be closed on: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
  • Due to private events, photography and filming it is sometimes necessary to close areas of the house and garden. As a result we recommend that you telephone in advance of your visit (01322 526574) if you are travelling a long distance or have something specific you wish to see.
