Welcome to Hall Place and Gardens
Visitor Centre, Café, Stables Art Gallery and Gardens
Are free-of-charge and open all year round 9.30am – 5pm (except Christmas).
Please note that local byelaws prohibit dogs onsite (except guide dogs), BBQs & fishing. For more information please visit our Byelaw page.
Our gardens are open year round (except Christmas and New Year) at the following times:
April – Sept: 9am-9:30pm (the Stone Arch Gate that takes you to the glasshouses and Visitor Centre Centre will close at 5:45pm.)
Oct – March: 9am-5pm (The Stone Arch Gate that takes you to the Glasshouses and Visitor Centre will close at 4:15pm with the large Green East Gates that allow access and exit to the wider gardens closing to the public at our usual winter time of 5pm.)
Historic House
The Historic House has many fabulous stories. Although the house is closed to the general public, you can access the Historic House and exhibitions by pre-booked guided tours held on select dates.
Jambs Owls Experience and London Butterfly Gardens.
Ready for an animal encounter? Find it it in the glasshouses.
Visit the London Butterfly Gardens, the tropical paradise full of free flying butterflies. Open daily 10am-5pm (last entrance 30mins before closing). Purchase your tickets online or at the door.
Those cheeky owls at Jambs Owls Experience love meeting visitors. Open mid February to December, Friday- Sunday and Bank Holidays. (Additional opening Wednesdays & Thursdays during Bexley school holidays). Purchase your tickets at the door.
Other events
Farmers Market – every first Sunday & Second Saturday in hte month

Tickets for Guided Tours of the House
The gardens are free to enter.
The Historic House is open for pre-booked guided tours only on selected dates.
Information
- The Café opens at 9:30am. Last orders in the Café are thirty minutes before closing time.
- The gardens are open year round and open every day at 9am. During April to September closing time is 10pm and 4pm at all other times of the year.
- The visitor centre and Café will be closed on: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
- Due to private events, photography and filming it is sometimes necessary to close areas of the house and garden. As a result we recommend that you telephone in advance of your visit (0203 045 4088) if you are travelling a long distance or have something specific you wish to see.
