Exciting proposals, including a children’s playground, craft stalls, a new shop, a remodelled visitor centre and exhibition spaces at Hall Place and Gardens will be discussed at next week’s Places Overview and Scrutiny Committee (16 October). Butterfly Jungles Experience & Plant Shop closed for the winter 1st October 2018 – 31st January 2019
Last chance of the year to walk around the Butterfly Jungles Experience this weekend before they close for the winter. The experience and plant shop will close at 4.30pm on Sunday 30 September and will reopen on 1st February 2019.

Please note we are no longer selling mini bags of wildfowl food from the gift shop in our historic house. The site is over populated with geese and unfortunately they are causing serious damage to the gardens and the River. Please help us by not feeding the geese, ducks and birds. There are plenty of natural food sources for them in the gardens. Thank you for your support.
Hall Place and Gardens has been awarded a National Lottery grant of £64,400 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). Money raised by National Lottery players will enable Hall Place and Gardens to develop ways to maximise the business opportunities , as well as vital investment into the Grade 1 listed Tudor house and gardens. Tesco Supermarket have given Hall Place a grant of £12,000 to create a new Community Herb and Wildlife Garden. The money has been raised through Tesco's Bags of Help scheme and work will begin on the new garden in early 2017. The new Community Herb and Wildlife Garden will include plants and herbs that have been grown throughout history for their practical uses. Visitors will be able to see soapwort, used to make soap, lemon balm, used to soothe digestive problems and woad, used to dye fabric a vivid blue colour.
