Yesterday 6th July, the Mayor visited the London Butterfly Gardens at Hall Place to officially open the new attraction.

The London Butterfly Gardens’ opened its doors on Wednesday 10 July at Hall Place & Gardens, just in time for the Summer. It has already been a big hit with visitors.

The Mayor, Cllr Sue Gower MBE posted on facebook –

‘Today saw the launch of the London Butterfly Gardens at Hall Place Bexley. The Mayor and her Consort were joined by the Leader of the Council, The Baroness Councillor Teresa O’Neill of Bexley, the Chief Executive Mr Paul Thorogood, together with Cabinet Members and Council Officers.
Matthew Simmonds and Nick Best created this exhibition to both entertain and educate. The specially designed habitat has a tropical temperature of 28’ with 75-80% humidity, not only for the butterflies but also for the plants and nectar flowers they need to feed, breed and lay their eggs.
This is truly fantastic addition to Hall Place – thank you to all involved, particularly Lynda Weaver and Janet Stone for all their hard work in making this happen. 👏👏👏‘
