Centrepieces latest exhibition at the Stables Gallery Hall Place is based on the theme of this years World Mental Health Day and includes artwork from their recent ‘Inner Me’ and ‘Anxiety’ Exhibitions
Inequality can affect anyone experiencing mental ill health in a number of ways, through stigma and discrimination, lack of adequate health care and support, or inaccurate stereotypes of what people are like who have these experiences. Discrimination on the basis of gender, age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and religion can lead to worsening of mental health and quality of life.
Some of the work of the 35 Centrepieces artists on display here explores these ideas.
You will also see examples of work from the regular programme of art workshops which we run, including ‘Art Healing’ and ‘Snap Out of It’, as well as what our artists have been producing in general over the past year or so.
If you would like to purchase any of the artwork then this would be most welcome. Some of the proceeds will go towards helping Centrepieces survive as a charity as well as the artists themselves. We have been in existence for over 20 years and are run entirely by volunteers.
