Fencing, Latin and Greek are not on every school’s curriculum, but these were just some of the skills deemed essential at the Hall Place School for young Gentlemen from 1795-1869. Needlework was key for the pupils of Bexley Technical School for Girls 1957-65. Discover how schools have changed over the years in this fascinating exhibition opening at Hall Place on 9 November. Dress as a pupil; sit at an old school desk whilst practicing your handwriting and arithmetic skills. Discover the punishments for unruly children!
Access to this exhibition is included when you purchase an entrance ticket to the historic house. No food or drink in the house please.
