Bexley Technical School for Girls Tour

11am (doors open at 10:45pm)

£8 per person. Advance booking required

Our passionate curator will take you around the historic house exploring how the rooms were used during the 1950s and 1960s as an annexe to the main school, as extra space was needed for classrooms. Discover how the girls were taught such lessons as Geography, Needlework and Music in a beautiful Tudor house.

You will have time after the tour to visit our exhibition displaying school objects from times gone by. You can test yourself at the 11+ and see if you would have gone to a Grammar School or Technical School.

Location: Our tours take place in the historic house, on the ground and first floor.

Who would like this: Anyone interested in local history, reminiscing over school days, or who attended Bexley tech in the 50’s or 60’s.

What to bring: Please dress for walking round a historic house, areas can be cooler and some old historic floors can be slightly uneven.

Booked online: Please bring your ticket email QR code to show to staff, so they can scan it. You can buy on the day as well if tickets are available.

Accessibility & Facilities: This event is held in the historic house over the ground and first floor.
